Every Tunesday I post a boldly imperfect, one-take song draft of a song. This was written from the Fearless Challenge’s Day 1 prompt, “Broken Windows” (You can receive a new prompt most Fridays and find out more about the Fearless Songwriting Challenge by signing up for my mailing list here).
The sun’s not up but it’s acoming
The night’s still dark but it’s arunning
& I’m awaiting on the light
Can’t hardly wait to see that sight
Been feeling like I’m going crazy
Clear blue sky they’re calling hazy
They’ll break a window just to call it broke
They’ll set a fire so they can yell out smoke
The night’s been long but not much longer
The night’s been long but not much longer
I see the dawning of the light
And good goddamn what a pretty sight
